Main Squeeze Music

For the 7th year in a row, CEG / NolaFunk – the NY-based event promoter that honors the musicians and spirit of New Orleans – will expand its annual Mardi Gras Ball in NYC with the first installment of the Nolafunk Mardi Gras Ball Tour, including stops in Philadelphia, Baltimore & DC. Each show will be led by New Orleans royalty, Kermit Ruffins and his band the BBQ Swingers. Raised in the 9th Ward and featured on the HBO series ‘Treme,’ this trumpet player, composer and “unabashed entertainer” (NY Times) embraces the true, swinging spirit of New Orleans. The tour also features the Stooges Brass Band (Feb 7-9), and the Main Squeeze (Feb 6-8.)
Prior years of the Mardi Gras Ball have featured many of the premier artists from New Orleans including Dr. John, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Rebirth Brass Band, Anders Osborne, Jon Cleary, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, and many more. In addition to the headliners, the Mardi Gras Ball usually books up & comers at the time who move on to larger audiences. Prior years have included Marco Benevento, Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds, the Soul Rebels and more. This year is no different with the inclusion of the Main Squeeze and the Stooges Brass Band.

The Main Squeeze will be starting off the New Year celebrations playing a Phish After Party at the one & only “BB Kings in Time Square, NYC.” Tickets can be purchased here!

The Main Squeeze will be making it’s debut appearance at B.B. Kings blues club in NYC. Curbside Hustle will also be featured at this event. Tickets can be purchased on the B.B. Kings website.

Equifunk 2012 was an extreme success for The Squeeze.  This was our second year playing this festival and we will most definitely be back for years to come.  Our first set was Saturday at 4 pm for the annual Equifunk pool party and our second set was in the Gymnasium from 3 to 6am.  We closed out the festival after Galactic and played until the sunrise.  For a complete review on the festival, CLICK HERE.

Coming right off of a sold out concert cruise in NYC, we couldn’t have been more excited to travel around the World to perform/compete in the Venetian Jazz and Blues festival in Macau, China!  We had an amazing experience sharing our music on the other side of the globe along with 11 other great bands.  We’re happy to say that we won 1st place in the competition, and will hopefully be returning to China in the near future!
